Today, it is easy for kids to gain access to such unhealthy foods at home, in the school cafeteria, vending machines, etc. And with such easy access Firstly, the child needs to go through a complete medical evaluation. That way the doctor will know what were the causes that led to the child to become obese then he or she can put them on an effective treatment plan. to such good tasting food, children are going to eventually over indulge which will lead to weight gain, and eventually, obesity. CHANGE THEIR DIET Avoid fast food! No snacks between meals. Having fuller 3 square meals can help reduce the amount of snacking. If snacking can't be avoided make sure the child is only eating healthy snacks in moderation. EVIRONMENTE LIFESTYLE Environment also plays a key part in childhood obesity. Today, children spend more time inside watching TV or playing video games rather than playing outside or exercising. Since they are not moving around and burming off the calories and fat they ingest, children begin to gain weight rather than lose it. EXERCISE The child needs to be physically active. A certain amount of physical activity per day is encouraged. Make sure the child avoids a sedentary life style. Limiting time spent on things such as TV and video game can prevent a child from becoming accustomed to just sitting around all the time and will inspire them to do something more active instead. GENETICS Genetics does play a role in childhood obesity. Studies show that children of obese parents have a higher chance of becoming obese themselves. Even if a child only has one obese parent they still are at a higher risk of becoming obese compared to children without obese parents. SUPPORT! SUPPORT! SUPPORT! All children need support, and in a life changing situation, support is a must in order keep the child motivated to reach a health weight and lifestyle.
