Your server will not he impressed If you receive a second beer before the first is Bad news - you When waiting for a server to bring you a beer, place a coaster in front of you. In some pubs, placing a coaster will get you a beer whether or not should never leave finished, do not pour the remains of the old glass a beer unfinished. It's a huge insult to into the new. Beer is very important in the Czech the bartender and Republic (they have the highest consumption of in the world), and this practice is considered the bar. you've asked for it (not necessarily a bad thing!) very rude. SCAM ALERT! Sadly, petty crime and scams are still pretty prevalent in Prague. Make sure your stag do isn't ruined by swotting up on potential scams first. If possible, order a taxi by phone rather than flagging one down TAXI Use a reputable company (AAA, Profi-Taxi, or Halo) - TAXIS - If possible, know your route, and tell the driver which route you want to take Taxi scams are incredibly common and include taking the 'scenic route', claiming a customer gave the driver far less money than they did, and purposely driving to the wrong place. Agree a price and pay up front (get in the taxi first!) Check your change PICKPOCKETS - - "HAVE A DRINK WITH US" - Like in any big city, pickpocketers are rife, so take the usual precautions (i.e. be careful where you flash your cash, and don't keep your wallet in your back pocket). If a pretty group of girls asks you to join them for a drink, beware. This is often a scam to lure you to another bar where you will be charged very large amounts of money for your drinks. Keep your wits about you and don't visit an unknown venue with people you've just met. "Bread on the table' scam - this is very rarely free. Ask the waiter to take it away if you don't you'lIl probably be charged for it - even if you don't eat it. - RESTAURANTS- 'Service charge' scam - double check your bill to see if a service charge is already included. Some restaurants hope you won't notice and will pay twice. Most restaurant scams jenerally won't cost much, and you may not even notice you've been had; however if you want to make i too sure your money stays where it should be (with you!), watch out for the following: 'Unitemised bill' scam - if your bill doesn't list each item separately, you're almost definitely being overcharged. Insist on an itemised bill. Even if you do have an itemised bill, check it carefully. It's not uncommon for additional items to appear. 'By weight' scam - this is when the listed price is not for the whole item, but per a certain weight. There may be a very small **' which indicates this, but that the restaurant hopes will go unnoticed. This scam could easily see you paying four or more times than you expected for your meal, so check your menu carefully.
