There’s a jagged peak above Provo, Utah that I’ve seen for years called Squaw Peak (noted as Squaw Mountain on maps, but nobody uses that name), which I didn’t know there was a trail up to until...
recently. Last week I hiked up the three and three quarter mile trail to the top in a good hour forty just in time for the setting sun.
Being a goof, I shot the ascent on my GoPro and and tracked it on my GPS and afterward used all that to make a video infographic as part of some future design ideas. Compressed down to 15 seconds for Instagram, it’s a rocketing ride to the peak and I wonder if a chest-mounted camera might be a better angle in future to be a little less jarring. I decided on the info reading out like a scope or compass rather than some more static readout in straight blocks at the bottom, it’s my portfolio piece after all, and I get to be the capricious art director here.
