Spring/Summers 2014 Trends

SPRING/SUMMER 2014 TRENDS Although SS14 collections landed in stores way back when we were thinking it was too cold to leave our hats and scarves at home, now is the time to move forward and update your wardrobe ready for the new season. Check out our guide to the hottest trends of the up-coming season below: Colours: A modern take on colour blocking for SS14 is softly sweet pastels mixed with vivid brights. This season the focus is on mixing colours, patterns, prints and textures together. We're talking dramatic, powerful colours meet romantic, light colours. For prints anything goes as long as it's floral. The catwalks have gone flower power crazy this seasons with anything from huge rose prints in a mixture of this seasons key colours to smaller posy prints. Pantone released their fashion colour report for Spring 2014 which includes dreamy pastels colours such as mint green, sky blue, and violet combined with cobalt blue, sunshine yellow and cayenne pink. Styles/Key itemsi Kimonos - making an appearance in Autumn/Winter 2013 kimonos are sticking around for Spring/Summer. To make yours work this season make sure it has plenty of fringing to give a nod to the tribal trend and apply to absolutely any outfit. If you've got your AW velvet kimono hanging around refresh it this season by wearing it with Springs must-have pastel palette. These also double up as the perfect beach cover up, Miami, Ibiza, Marbella here we come. Bomber Jackets aren't going anywhere! But move away from AW13 colours and channel your inner girly side with floral prints to ensure its oozing an of essence of Spring. If prints are too loud choose one key shade from the S14 colour palette to rock. We're loving hot pink. Masculine tailoring has made a big appearance over the last few seasons. For SS14 update this trend in pastels colours and new season prints to see you the whole way through SS. 90's we LOVE you. Clueless welcome back! And Saved By The Bell, oh how we've missed you. Last season saw a revival of classic 90's trends including the hugely accepted grunge trend (lots of PVC mixed with tartan, which we loved) And this season is set to be no different. The crop top isn't going anywhere for SS14 and should be at the top of your wish-list, coordinates have been updated with pastels and last season's love of logos and slogans just got a whole lot bigger. Bermuda (city) shorts and culottes were featured on many of SS14 catwalks and favourited by our very own Victoria Beckham and this look can be worn dressed up or down. Mix in your floral bomber jacket and flats for a casual outfit. Or for work add a coordinating box jacket and shirt. Accessories Chunky necklaces were all over the catwalks and high street for AW13 and they've sustained their cool credentials for SS14. Updated for the Spring season in an assortment of candy colours, if you buy one accessory this season make it a chunky necklace. Its the perfect accessory to throw on over your grey marl tshirt for an instant wardrobe update. Backpacks were a huge trend last year popping up at festivals all over the world. For this season they see a glam makeover in luxe textures like soft leather and on-trend prints. Think about the comfort factor and the practicality, two hands free! Last season's love of trainers isn't going anywhere. And with Adidas relaunching their legendary retro trainer 'Stan Smith' this is one trend not to ignore. If you're looking for a more feminine take on this trend then turn to skater style slip ons available in large range of prints and colours perfect for SS14. Pinktickle
