BACKS FUTURE 30 years ago on March 13th 1984, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X became the first mobile phone to go on sale to the general public. It sold for just under $4,000. It was 13" long, weighed 28 ounces. It had one function – to call people. It's easy to take for granted just how much we can achieve using a modern day smartphone. We can email people, take photos, make video calls, play games, listen to music, record music, navigate the world and a whole lot more. With the iPhone 6 expected late 2014, the possibilities truly are endless... TO THE We take a retrospective view on how mobile phone technology has developed over the last 30 years.
