The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has hardly had time to hit shelves and already there are reports of the company’s next hero handset – the Galaxy S7 Wrap – which is due to touch down in early-to-mid 2...
016.
If you thought the curved edges of the aptly named Edge were impressive, you’ve seen nothing yet.
The Galaxy S7 Wrap has total 360 degree screen coverage, allowing you more screen real estate than ever before.
Gestures have been taken to the next level too, with the ability to swipe from the side to the back to pull up contact information and then you’re able to phone, text or even hit them up via social media.
However, the gestures are nothing when it comes to the capabilities of the accelerometer inside the device.
The Wrap tilts and rotates as a device normally would, but this is the first phone to be able to recognise flips.
There are rumours of a collaboration with Tony Hawks that will allow the first interactive skateboard app to be released, with the user flipping the phone around to pull off tricks – think Tech Deck, version 58,000.
Whilst a number of people we asked were concerned about the potential scratches and damage that could be caused on a 360 degree screen, it seems that Gorilla Glass 5 is virtually bulletproof.
Rumours are suggesting that manufacturing runs for the Galaxy S7 Wrap will begin late this year.
