RECYCLE MORE IN 2015 Why should we recycle? Recycling is important for the future of our planet. By recycling we are able to conserve raw materials and protect habitats. Recycling reduces the amount of natural resources we use by converting used materials into new products instead. It takes a lot of money and energy to manufacture new stuff too. Thus recycling helps reduce energy consumption. So by recycling we're helping to protect the environment. The process of extracting raw materials results in water and air pollution. Reducing energy consumption also means a reduction in greenhouse gases which are a cause of global warming. 75 percent of waste is recyclable but we only recycle 30%. 21.5M 4 pounds tonnes is the amount of rubbish the average person generates each day. is the amount of food waste we generate each year.
