Proper Care for Barware

A brightnest GUIDE: PROPER CARE FOR YOUR BARWARE WINE GLASS Don't use detergent! Instead, mix 1 part vinegar with 3 parts warm water. Fill a sink with your mixture, and then sub- merge your wine glass open side down. Rinse, then store your wine glasses stem down to avoid chips and cracks. HIGHBALL/LOOWBALL GLASS You can safely put these glasses in the dishwasher. Make sure they're fully dry, and then store them on a flat surface open side down to prevent dust and dirt from collecting on the bottom of your glass. BEER STEIN Keep soap away from your beer steins! Instead, mix 2 tbsp. of baking soda with a ½ tsp. of salt and 4 tbsp. of water into a paste. Coat the inside of your beer stein with the paste, and then rinse it out with cool water. Let the stein air-dry. COPPER MUG First, cut a lemon in half. Next, dip the juicy side of the lemon into salt. Vigorously rub your copper with the lemon and watch your stains disappear. Once it's clean, rinse the copper piece with warm water and thoroughly wipe it dry. MARTINI GLASS Use warm water - cold water can make it crack. Follow the same vinegar mixture in "wine glasses" to clean. Hold it by the stem, and twist it in the same direction you're scrubbing. The opposite direction could break the glass! www.brightnest.com BrightNest is a free site that provides tips, tricks and weekly reminders to help you keep your home in great shape.
