e expected two create two infographics. The purpose of the activity is to make understanding the CRCT test scores for across several grade levels as well as content areas easier to understand. It is my belief that technology assignment is aimed at providing students practice and familiarity with technology tools in order to enhance his or her understanding of abstract concepts, and important information.
The two infographics I have chosen for this class activity are as follows: 1) visual.ly, and 2) easel.ly. Visual.ly is a cloud-based platform that lets you design projects for the marketplace. Easel.ly is another type of infographic that allows the user to create charts by using the drag and drop feature and the click of the mouse.
According to Davis (2013), infographics is the new visualization process for learning. A large number of students are visual learners. I have become dependent upon visuals in order to help me understand abstract thoughts. I agree with Davis when he says visualization is critical to learning process of information (Davis, 2013). Krauss (2012) uses the analogy that pictures are worth a thousand words. Sometimes pictures can even explain concepts better than someone trying to explain in their own words. Kraus believed that infographics were extremely instrumental in leading the way to learning with technology (Kraus, 2013).
