The diverse world of wine varietals can be overwhelming and intimidating at times. If you're new to wine, here's a little road map to help you navigate your way through. By the time you've read these tips, your glass will runneth over with knowledge. Remember, if you're wine tasting or planning on having more than one type of wine at a time, always start with a white wine before moving on to a red. So Suh-weet! For the wine lover with a sweet tooth, these varietals deliver a delicious treat Moscato New to wine? Try a Moscato! Light, slightly bubbly and sweet, this is a drinkable wine with plenty of fruit flavors to satisfy almost any palate. It can be a great dessert wine. Riesling Perfumed and flowery often describe this sweet white wine that's not quite as sweet as Moscato. Most often, hints of pear, apple and peach come through. Port Extremely sweet and high in alcohol, port makes a decadent dessert wine or after dinner drink. Try eating a chocolate and taking a sip of port at the same time – pure heaven! While not considered a sweet wine, Pinot Noir is still fruit-forward with low tannins. It's often described as having floral qualities.
