Overview of France and Europe objectives for Rio+20

RIO+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development OVERVIEW OF FRANCE AND EUROPE OBJECTIVES Rio+20, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, is the 5th Earth FOR RIO+20 Summit. This event demonstrates how society can manage development while maintaining a perspective of sustainability in order to meet its current needs without compromising the resources of future generations. Confident that this crucial change can happen, 10h11 presents an overview of the current situation in France and in the 27 Member States of the EU. On the brink of the awaited Summit, our data-visualization is based on the 3 pillars of sustainable development: the economy, society and the environment. $4 ECONOMIC PILLAR COMPOSITION A country's R&D investments have an impact on its economic growth. Well managed, these research results and innovations are likely to promote job creation and economic development. If the rate of school dropouts increases any further, it could effectively compromise the well-being of new generations, which are the cornerstone of a nation's Young people build tomorrow's economy and society. They contribute to the community in their capacity as productive members, consumers and agents of change. We assessed the evolution of their integration in the work sphere to provide a general overview of the current employment situation. development. The volume of greenhouse gas emissions, which is one of the primary causes of global warming, reflects the efforts put in the environmental area. Very sensitive to ecological variations, birds are a good bio-indicator. Bird watching provides a precise overview of the present state of biodiversity. 2006 2007 2008 2009 +20% EUROPE -0,4% -1,1% -1% -1,5% -2% FRANCE -2,8% FRANCE -4,1% -11% -23% -28% -7,1% RENEWABLE This graph shows the renewable energy share of global final energy consumption. Based on the evolution from 2006 to 2009, our forecast presents what has to be done in the next years to meet the objectives. ENERGIES 21,5% 9,8% 12,3% 23% TARGET/ FORECAST 10h11 analysis indicates that greater efforts are needed to reach the target of FRANCE 2006 2009 2020 23%. 23% 9% 12% 20% TARGET/ FORECAST On a Europe-wide basis, the measures EUROPE 2006 2009 2020 taken by the various Member States will be sufficient to reach the threshold of 20% by 2020. This study was conducted using only reliable and recent data carried out by INSEE and SOeS. 10h11 organized the information and highlighted the essentials in the data-visualization. In the field of economic investments, France focuses heavily on the car industry and industrial engineering, remaining 9 points ahead of the rest of Europe in this area. Surprisingly, the country is 4 points behind in its aeronautical R&D investments. Data is consistent for the remaining areas. Since 2006, European youth unemployment has decreased however Europe still has a higher rate of school dropouts than France. Correlation factors related to this data are not made available on the data-visualization. It will be important to understand this continuous pattern observed since 2006. Concerning the six greenhouse effect gases, Europe as well as France is making real efforts. On the other hand, the bird example makes it perfectly clear how necessary it is to preserve and be aware of our biodiversity status and trends. Renewable energy is still increasing, but France will have to accelerate the conversion pace to achieve its objectives. May 2012.
