ONE of the best spots to see a band in New York this summer and early fall was an empty, abandoned pool in a Brooklyn park. The McCarren Park Pool offered a slew of well-run free and ticketed shows, featuring rock artists like Feist, Cat Power, Modest Mouse, TV on the Radio and Sonic Youth, which performed its classic 1988 album “Daydream Nation” in its entirety.
