Natural Gas Reserves, Production and Consumption

Natural Gas Reserves, Production and Consumption There are 187.9 trillion cubic metres of natural gas on the planet. Each year we use 2.6 trillion cubic meters. In 2011 global reserves increased to 208.4 trillion cubic metres. By the end of the year there were sufficient reserves to sustain 63.6 years of global production. How does natural gas compare to other fossil fuels? World oil reserves reached 1652.6 billion barrels by the end of 2011, sufficient to meet 54.2 years of global production. Global coal production grew by 6.1% in 2011, which is sufficient to meet 112 years of global production.
