My Kind of Town

My Kind of Town Mid-year report from America's battle zones 2012 Afghanistan Operation Enduring Freedom Chicago, Illinois, USA Iraq Operation Iraqi Freedom Chicago is facing a surge in its homicide rate. Residents face a murder rate that, thus far this year, is worse than U.S. troops in Afghanistan. The Daily pointed out in a Friday column that more Chicago residents have been killed so far this year in the city than the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan over the same period. The war zone-like statistics are not new. As WBEZ reports, while some 2,000 US. troops have been killed in Afghanistan since 2001, more than 5,000 people have been killed in Chicago during that time, based on Department of Defense and FBI data. Data gathered from news reports and press releases from the U.S. Department of Defense, CENTCOM, the MNF, and the British Ministry of Defence as reported on http://icasualties.org on around August 11, 2012 and is believed to 324 United States Citizens be accurate. However, as the render of the main image took 12:53:22, it's highly likely these counts have gone higher, especially in 209 United Sowets Service Mer represented Chicago as it's the weekend.
