agazine about neuroscience, emotional intelligence and brain research, all merged in a design and visual communication environment. “The Language of Music” is a publication about a scientific research in music language and universal emotions. It was Thomas Fritz from the Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (in Leipzig, Germany) who made the research in 2009 in an isolated culture: the Mafa people (or also called Matakam people) in Mandara mountain, Africa. The findings revealed that this native-african people who had never even listened to the radio before, could recognize basic emotions like happiness, sadness and fearfulness in Western music.
