The Most Famous VANDALISED ARTWORK in the World Public works of art are for the most part appreciated. However, vandals continue to exist in many of the major cities around the world and deface these magnificent creations. Here are some of the most vandalised pieces of art in the world. The Isittle Mermaid ? What: A sculpture of a young mermaid perched on a rock by the waterside Where: The Langelinie promenade in Copenhagen, Denmark Vandalism Since being installed near Copenhagen's harbour in 1913, it has been decapitated several times.
