Believe it or not, based solely upon reported number of injuries, BASKETBALL is the most dangerous sport! By the way, BADMINTON is the #14 most dangerous sport... seriously. Interestingly, SOFTBALL ranked more dangerous than BASEBALL, due mostly to head, finger and knee injuries. Seems strange at first, but the fact that softball requires less protective gear probably plays a role. * Figures based upon the Consumer Product Safety Commission's National Electronic Injury Surveillance System, which collects national patient information from each hospital for every emergency room visit involving any injury associated with consumer products.
