The dark blue portion of the bar represents that player's baseball career, the length of which is encoded in the dark bar's length. A dot indicates where in a player's career he achieved his 3000th hit and is color-coded based on the type of hit. Additionally, a sparkline illustrates that players distribution of hits over his career. A dark blue mark in the sparkline indicates a season with over 200 hits.
