Used protovis to apply Robert Kosara's Presidential Demographics code to MLB's 3000 hit club. Each bar represents the lifespan of a player who has 3000 or more hits over the span of his career. The dark blue portion of the bar represents that player's baseball career, the length of which is encoded in the dark bar's length. A dot indicates where in a player's career he achieved his 3000th hit and is color-coded based on the type of hit. Additionally, a sparkline illustrates that players distribution of hits over his career. A dark blue mark in the sparkline indicates a season with over 200 hits.
