Miles for Meso is a national series of races, fun runs and walks to support mesothelioma awareness and research. In early February, over 300 runners from around the country gathered in South Florida for an 8K race and 4K tribute walk. As a result, over $40,000 was raised to fund much-needed research. Mesothelioma is a rare and aggressive form of cancer most commonly caused by exposure to asbestos. While mesothelioma treatments are improving, there is no known cure for the disease and more funding is needed to support medical research in this field.
