STRATEGIC BRACKETING. how to win the office pool When playing against others, there is no benefit if your bracket is the same as everyone else's. Use strategy to differentiate. Choose the No. 1 seeds to win their first rounds. In tournament history, no 16th seed has ever made it past the first round. Use Vegas odds to pick the remaining favorites in the first round, but leave the 8th and 9th-seeded games vacant for now. Early in the tournament, the seeds are a significant factor in determining which teams will win. However, the 8th and 9th-seeded teams have similar odds of winning. Pick the champion before completing the middle rounds. Pick a mild upset for the champion (choOse a team ranked 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th overall in the nation). Since the updated seeding process started in 79, only 55% of the national champions have come from No. 1 seeds. Picking a mild upset is a thus a way to differentiate your bracket from others and still have a good chance of correctly picking the actual winner. No team seeded below No. 3 has won the tournament since 1997. Finish the rest of the bracket, but steer clear of favorites and be wary of choosing winners based only on seed rankings. Seedings become less significant in later tournament rounds. After the elite eight play, a team's odds of winning hardly depend on the original rankings. sources: http://aportalnatrated.mn.com Attp:// Attp://www.ameriean.com Attp://wow.seleneedalleeom Attp://wew.ebenent.com KELLEY WOLLMAN 2012 //www.allbroekets.com Attp://brurkatodda.ca.illinais.cie Artp:/ fonline wl.com
