MARKET ACCESS PROGRAM BRANDED PROGRAM BREAKDOWN QUICK FACTS ABOUT MAP • The Market Access Program (MAP) uses funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) The Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008, enacted into law in June 2008, set funding for the MAP ot annually through fiscal year 2012 $200M • The MAP benefits all regions of the country through increased exports and rural job expansion • The Market Access Program (MAP) Branded was designed for small businesses that desire financial support to launch a new branded export effort. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS • Be small according to Small Business Administration guidelines, or a farm cooperative: Manufacturers Packers Wholesalers < nn Employees < Employees = 100 Employees %3D O = Unlimited employees Processors Farmer Cooperatives Export Agents/Trading Companies 11 0 Employees Employees Employees • Export a product that is at least 50% U.S. agricultural origin • Assure uninterrupted supply to international buyers • Own or have the rights to a brand name • Label the product as "Made in the USA" ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS • Fresh Produce • Hides & Skins • High - Value Food Products • Pet Foods • Snack Foods • Ornamental Horticulture •Specialty Food Items • Health & Beauty Products • Beverages • Pet Bedding • Aquaculture • Alternative Building Materials • Some Wood Products • Alternative Interior Furnishings COST FOR PARTICIPATING •A non-refundable application fee $250 •A non-refundable Administration Fee equal to 07o of any approved funding allocation (i.e. a company approved for $10,000 would pay SUSTA a $600 Administration Fee) payable when the Branded contract is awarded. • The minimum request level is $5,000 in pr $2,500 total.
