London Moving House

As your family grows Buying a much larger house with 3 or more bedrooms, space for separate activities. Need to be near public transport for socialising. Plan beforehand. EHE Make friends with your removal company. Cancel utilities, regular deliveries, phone and broadband Notify change of address for insurances, car, driving licence, bank etc. Take back library books before they're packed by mistake! Pack what you can in advance. Remember to clear out lofts, garage, sheds or basements. What to look for from your London Removals company Make arrangements for children and pets. It may be best to have them visit grandparents or a friend ón the actual day. Polite, friendly drivers whom you feel you can trust. Disconnect washing machines and dishwashers if they are being moved, so that they're fully drained. A removal company that's knowledgeable about your area. A removal company with experience and that comes recommended. Collect any spare keys from neighbours or family and put them all together. Drivers that are helpful and can make useful suggestions. Label what's in the boxes and where they're going in the new house. Reasonable prices, with no hidden extras. If you need a packing service check what the charge will be and where you get boxes from. Starting a family Need more space, renting, or if possible buying a 2 to 3 bedroomed house. More need of a garden. Children leave home Downsizing - Move to London suburbs, but need easy access to shops. May still need the space for grandchildren visiting. HOUSE-MOVING TIPS TO PASSS ON WHEN THE YOUNGSTERS LEAVE THE NEST On the Day Choose an area which has what you need (whether this is handy shops, tube/bus close by, gym, leisure centre, park or school.) Keep the things you need somewhere safe – including cold food such as sandwiches, drinks, kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, teaspoons, pet's water bowl and food, cleaning things, vacuum cleaner, soap and towel, house keys, shoes and outdoor clothing for everyone. Check it out at different times of day and at weekends. There may be a very noisy delivery depot that starts work at 4.00am! Is that quiet, leafy street a rabbit run at rush hour? Walk past a few times - check out the neighbours' houses and gardens. Dirty, torn curtains or a rusting washing machine in the garden may give you a clue. Ensure animals are secure and that the cat doesn't disappear. Take the dog out (if you have one). Help the removal men as far as possible, including helping load the van – depending on what arrangements you have made Does that dog bark all day long? If you or frequent visitors have a car, what's the position about parking? Keep sane and keep the tea and coffee coming. Stable partnership/marriage Renting, or if possible buying, large flat ór small house. Children start their own lives Now there are 3 more homes about this van www.aboutthisvan.co.uk
