LiPo battery care

LIPO BATTERY CARE BALANCE REGULARLY For maximum longevity, do a balance charge at least once a week. If you have the time and patience, every time is still better! DO NOT OVER CHARGE Do not charge your LiPo batteries over 4.2V. For maximum longevity, only charge up to 90% or to about 4.15 - 4.17V. DO NOT OVER DISCHARGE Do not discharge your LiPo batteries below 3V. For maximum longevity, only discharge up to 30% or to about 3.2V. STORE AT 40%-60% CHARGE Do not store your LiPo batteries at full charge. At the same time, do not discharge it completely either. Storing it at about 40-60% charge is ideal. CHARGE AT 1C Whenever possible, charge LiPos at 10 charge rate. This holds true even if the battery spec indicates that it can be charged at a higher rate! NEVER CHARGE UNATTENTED NEVER leave LiPos for charging unattended. If things go wrong, you must be around to react quickly. You do not want a burnt down house! DISPOSE PROPERLY 00 Never toss a LiPo battery into the trash without properly discharging and neutralizing it. If you find this too daunting, take it to a local waste disposal centre or a hobby shop Sources: DRENEY batteryuniversity.com/,aem.umn.edu, uvm.edu, vlab.amrita.edu/, www.whoi.edu BEE droneybee.com
