League of Legends Challenger Series Overview

Presented by: & Coca-Cola zero GAMES LEAGUE LEGENDS CHALLENGER SERIES THE OVERVIEW The Challenger Series is a new league that offers players a clear path to pro. The top teams from the Ranked 5s Ladder in NA and EU will compete for prize money and a shot at breaking into the LCS. Challenger Series action will be broadcast live every week following the LCS and will place a spotlight on the next generation of pros. 12 WEEKS 1 WEEK 1 WEEK LCS REGULAR SEASON LCS PLAYOFFS 1 WEEK PROMOTION TOURNAMENT PROMOTION TOURNAMENT CHALLENGER SERIES 1 CHALLENGER SERIES 2 CHALLENGER PLAYOFFS QUALIFYING FOR THE PLAY-IN Teams will fight their way to become one of the Top 20 teams on the Ranked 5s Ladder and qualify for the Play-In stage that follows. TO ADVANCE Reach the Top 20 Ranked Ladder 2 THE PLAY-IN In this stage, the Top 20 Ranked 5s Ladder teams will battle it out down to 5 remaining teams. Those 5 teams will move onto Challenger Series 1. TO ADVANCE Be one of the 5 remaining teams THE BATTLE 3 TO ADVANCE The remaining 5 teams from the Play-In will now compete against the 3 qualifying teams from the previous Promotion Tournament, creating 8 teams total. Once the 8 teams are set they will battle it out in a single elimination bracket to determine the top 3 teams. Money and Series Points are at stake. TO ADVANCE Secure a Top 3 finish ANOTHER TOP 20 PLAY-IN DETERMINES WHICH 5 TEAMS QUALIFY FOR CS2 CHALLENGER 4 SERIES 2 With another 5 Teams from the newest Play-In combined with the Top 3 from CS1, a newly formed 8 team bracket will battle it out for a spot in the Challenger Playoffs. The Top 6 teams with the highest Series Point totals (cumulative over both Series 1 and 2) earn a spot at CS Playoffs. TO ADVANCE Be one of the Top 6 Team point holders CHALLENGER PLAYOFFS At the end of the CS2, the 6 teams with the highest cumulative point total from CS1 and CS2 will compete. The top team will win the Coke Zero Challenger Cup with the next two teams also advancing to the Promotion Tournament. TO ADVANCE Secure a Top 3 finish PROMOTION TOURNAMENT LEAGUE EGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES The Top 3 teams from the Challenger Playoffs will compete with the bottom 3 LCS teams to determine who gets a chance to play in the LCS next split. The losers will return to the next split in the Challenger Series.
