KISS HISTORY 1973 - 2014 KISS play their first show at a club in Queens, NY called Popcorn January 30, 1973 KISS begins recording their first album at Bell Sound Studios on New York City October 10, 1973 KISS begins their first North American tour in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada February 5, 1974 KISS, the band's self-titled album, is released February 18, 1974 KISS perform Nothin' to Lose, Firehouse, and Black Diamond for their first national television appearance (ABC's in Concert – aired March 29) O February 21, 1974 KISS release their second album, October 22. 1974 Hotter Than Hell KISS release Dress to Kill, which included the rock anthem, Rock and March 19, 1975 Roll All Nite KISS Alive! is released September 1975 Kiss is awarded their 1st Gold Record December 31, 1975 awards for KISS Alive! Destroyer is released and becomes KISS's most commercially successful studio album March 15, 1976 KISS win the People's Choice Award for the single Beth in the Best Song Category February 10, 1977 KISS headline Madison Square Garden February 18, 1977 for the 1st time KISS announces their debut KISS May 26, 1977 Marvel Comic Book KISS's tour of Japan breaks attendance records (previously held by the Beatles) June 22, 1977 KISS release Dynasty which contained the smash hit I Was Made for Lovin You May 23, 1979 Drummer Peter Criss leaves KISS May 20, 1980 Drummer Eric Carr joins KISS and makes his KISS debut on stage at June 1980 New York's Palladium Theatre Guitarist Ace Frehley leaves the band in order to pursue a solo career. KISS release Creatures of the Night O October 25, 1982 KISS performs at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This and two other stadium shows in Brazil would be June 18, 1983 the last time KISS would perform in their signature makeup until the KISS Reunion Tour in 1996. KISS continues with drummer Eric Singer and finishes the Revenge album November 24, 1991 KISS Revenge is released and dedicated to the late Eric Carr May 14, 1992 KISS Extreme Close-up long form video is released in the US July 14, 1992 KISS Konfidential long form video is released June 20, 1993 KISS My Ass, a compilation album featuring many popular artists putting their own spin on KISS classics is released June 21, 1994 KISS stages the first Official Worldwide KISS Convention in Perth, Australia February 3, 1995 KISS performs on MTV Unplugged O August 9, 1995 The band retumed to the studio for the Late 1995 first time in three years to record Carnival of Souls The four ornginal KISS members, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss appear in full KISS make- up/costume at the 38th annual Grammy Awards show for the first time in 17 years February 28, 1996 KISS announce the reunion of the four original member at a press conference on April 16, 1996 the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier The original members of KISS perform onstage together in full makeup for the first time in 17 years at KROQ's Weenie Roast in Irvine, CA June 15, 1996 The KISS Alive Worldwide Reunion tour starts at Tiger Stadium, Detroit, MI. The huge 13-month tour hosted 200 shows in 26 different countries. Over two million people attended the tour was the top-grossing tour of the year June 28, 1996 SPIN Magazine issue KISS four individual covers for each member August 1996 KISS plays at the Stockholm Sweden's Olympic Stadium. KISS set the record for the largest single event at the stadium since the 1912 Olympics June 1997 KISS The Second Coming long-form video is released. The video become double-platinum and documents how the four original members reunited for the Reunion tour of 1996-97 November 24, 1998 KISS performs Super Bowl XXXIII January 31, 1999 KISS receives a star on Hollywood's O August 11, 1999 Walk of Fame KISS's first feature film Detroit Rock City is released August 13, 1999 KISS ring in the new millennium by performing a New Year's Eve special event in Vancouver, Canada December 31, 1999 KISS become America's #1 Gold Record Champions January 2002 KISS performs at the XIX Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony. The worldwide audience was over three billion TV viewers. O February 24, 2002 Peter Criss returns to KISS and the August 2, 2003 KISS World Domination tour kicks off KISS releases the DVD KISS Symphony Alive IV and it is certified platinum by O September 9, 2003 the RIAA KISS performs at the Camp Pendleton Rockin' The Corps concert that is April 1, 2005 dedicated to US troops KISS releases the DVD KISS Rock The Nation Livel December 13, 2005 KISSOLOGY Volume 1 is released and October 31, 2006 goes on to become certified 5x platinum KISS sets an attendance record at Rock O July 21, 2007 Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin with over 40.000 attending KISSOLOGY Volume 2 released. O January 2008 KISS opens ALIVE 35 world tour to 80,000 fans at the Melbourne Grand Prix.
