LGBT Jews make up approximately 7% of the Jewish community. But they are overwhelmingly less engaged in the Jewish community than their heterosexual counterparts, primarily due to to a lack of outreach from Jewish organizations. Studies show that even organizations that think of themselves as welcoming are often not viewed as such by the LGBT community We all have a responsibility to ensure our community is fully welcoming and inclusive! As you consider the role you might play, think of someone in your life who has struggled, or continues to struggle, to find a community that is welcoming and supportive.
