It is produced on every continent except Antarctica, and has grown into an industry that some estimate is worth nearly $100 billion. There are many different types of wine. This variety comes from the kind of grape used and the method of production. Below we will introduce six of the most popular: merlot, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, shiraz or syrah, chardonnay, and sauvignon blanc.
