International Recipes: Shepherd’s Pie

Simple SHEPHERD'S PIE Shepherd's pie is a delicious meat pie traditionally made with lamb and flavourful vegetables, and topped with mashed potatoes. It's often served with garden peas! INGREDIENTS For The Pie METHOD 1 TBSP SUNFLOWER OIL Pre-heat the oven to 180C and 1 LARGE ONION take out an ovenproof dish. Pie: 3 CARROTS, CHOPPED 1. In a medium saucepan, heat oil and toss in the onions and carrots. 2. Turn up the heat and crumble the lamb into the pan. 500G LAMB MINCE 3. Add the tomato purée and Worcestershire sauce. 2 TBSP TOMATO PURÉE 4. Pour beef stock over mixture in the pan. 5. Cover and cook for 40 minutes. Mash: 500ML BEEF STOCK 1. Boil the potatoes for about 10 minutes. Drain and add the milk, butter and egg yolk. Large splash of WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE 2. Season with salt and pepper to your taste. 3. Proceed to mash all of ingredients. For The Mash3 Place the mince mixture into the ovenproof dish and top with mashed potatoes. The shepherd's pie is now ready to be baked for 20 – 25 minutes.
