International Recipes: Kebabs

Kebabs: 3 Wayr Did you know Turkic tribes invented kebabs? They used their swords to grill the meat! Luckily, you have a grill and skewers – but we'll bet they're just as delicious! Make them 3 different ways: BBQ Curry Chuchen Kebabs' Serving Size: 8 Kebabs Ingredients • 125 ml mayonnaise •1 tsp. chopped garlic • ½ tsp. curry powder • ½ tsp. chilli powder • ½ tsp. ground ginger • 675 g chicken breast • 8 skewers Viggre Kebabz² Method 1. In a large dish, mix the mayonnaise, garlic, curry powder, chilli powder and ginger. 2. Place chicken in the mixture Serving Size: 8 Kebabs and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours. 3. Discard marinade and thread chicken onto skewers. 4. Barbecue on medium-high heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Ingredients • 12 mushrooms, halved •1 large onion, sliced • 2 red peppers, squared •1 green pepper, squared • 4 tbsp. olive oil •1 lemon, juiced •1 clove garlic, minced • 15 g thyme, chopped • 15 g rosemary, chopped Lamb Kopta Kebabs Method 1. Thread mushrooms, onion and peppers on skewers. 2. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, thyme and rosemary. 3. Brush veggies on skewer with mixture. 4. Cook for 5 minutes on medium-high heat. Serving Size: 8 Kebabs Ingredients • 900 g minced lamb • 2 onions, finely chopped • 15 g mint leaves, finely chopped • 25 g coriander, finely chopped • 1 tbsp. ginger paste • 1 tbsp. chilli paste • 2 tsp. ground cumin • 2 tsp. ground coriander • 2 tsp. paprika • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper • 2 tsp. salt • 4 tbsp. vegetable oil • 8 skewers ·2 POUNDS to POCKET" Method 1. In a large bowl, mix lamb, onions, mint, coriander, ginger and chilli paste. 2. Season with cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne and salt. Refrigerate for 2 hours. 'McGoldrick, A. (2011).
