These professional experts implement transformation immediately - this can range from specific process redesign, to an entire cultural realignment. Whether in business or in football, interim managers need certain skills to succeed and the increasing use of interims in both areas is testament to their ability to achieve and deliver the desired outcomes, either in the boardroom, or on the pitch. We analysed ten interim managers in the Premier League era and compared their performance to their full time predecessors. We then took a separate look at Chelsea, one of the biggest users of interim managers, before going on to answer the question 'Who are the Kings of Interim?' The results make for some interesting reading. Please note: All of the interim managers analysed were appointed from 1992 and for the purposes of this analysis, interim managers are defined as those who have had an official interim title or contract, or were with the club for a limited or specified period of time e.g. a number of months to see out the season such as Avram Grant.
