Sequoia, an IBM supercomputer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, was on June 18, 2012 named No. 1 on the TOP500, a list of the world's fastest supercomputers. IBM systems also held the 3rd and 4th spots on the semiannual list and accounted for 20 of the top 20 most energy efficient systems.
