THE FOODPRINT FOR ONE UK PERSON Every individual has a foodprint – the amount of land it takes to produce the food they eat. The typical foodprint for a person from the UK is around half the size of a football field. This diagram shows how much land is needed to produce the different food groups eaten by a typical UK individual. THE FOODPRINT OF THE UK The UK population as a whole also has a foodprint – the amount of land needed to feed all 62 million of us. The food for the UK population comes from all over the world, but this diagram shows how much land we use up altogether, and compares that to the land mass of the UK. The proportions of different food groups are the same as for an individual.
