How to Make Sure your Mailed Goods are handled with Care

HOW TO MAKE SURE YOUR MAILED GOODS ARE HANDLED WITH CARE FRESH COFFEE 1$ Express 1$ LONDON CITY PERFECT LATTE COFFEE 1$ In 2014, the U.S. Post Office handled more than 155 billion pieces of mail. That's a lot of stamps. When you are preparing to ship something, whether it is a letter or a valuable item, there are several things you can do to make sure it arrives at its destination safely. KNOW THE RULES There are roughly 200 federal laws that protect the mail system from abuse. If you attempt to send something on the restricted list, you can bet your package will be ripped open and you could even face criminal charges. For example, do not try to ship ammunition or gasoline to anyone in the U.S. When it comes to international mail, even more items are banned, such as dry ice, cigarettes, alcohol, nail polish and perfumes that contain alcohol. PAD THE PACKAGE Anytime you use a box or oversized envelope to send something, you should protect the item through using enough cushion. Experts recommend putting at least 2 inches of padding around the item to protect it from vibration and shock. You can use any of the following: BUBBLE SHEETS AIR BAGS KRAFT PAPER POLYSTYRENE PEANUTS A good way to test to make sure you have cushioned the box enough is to give it a shake. If the items don't move, then you have done your job well. LABEL IT Mailing something breakable? Or are you shipping food that could go bad? The U.S. Post Office recommends labeling those items as either “fragile" or "perishable" to let carriers know to 个个 handle with care. FRAGILE BUY INSURANCE The U.S. Post Office generated $126 million in revenue from postage insurance in 2010, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Try insuring your mail next time you ship through any carrier. TIME YOUR MAILING You can avoid long lines and stressed workers by knowing when to hit up a delivery service. According to eBay, Mondays are always busiest, and lunch hours tend to have longer lines than off-peak hours. And the worst time to try to mail a package? Just before closing. No matter what you plan to ship, taking these precautions will keep your mail safe while en route. If you are worried about an item, simply speak to someone at the delivery company about your best options. PRONIO Delivery * Courier* Logistics
