HOW TO KEEP YOUR DANCE CLASSES EXCITING Tips to keep them interested and coming back for more! || || || ||||UUV ALLOW TIME FOR IMPROVISED DANCES Your students want to start thinking for themselves, so improvisation is the perfect way to allow them to express themselves, and it keeps the classes alive. Thinking on your feet is one of the most important skills that a dancer should learn and the best way for them to do this is through improvisation ALTERNATEWARM-UP SESSIONS CHANGETHE TUNE Most teachers have their own preferred method to warm-up, and they'll use this method for every class. But after the first few lessons, students can become a little tired of a warm-up. They start to expect it, and if there's one thing your lessons shouldn't be, its predictable. Use different steps, and exercises every few weeks to keep your students interested. The beautiful thing about dance is that it's so versatile. With a change in genre of music you can change dance completely. So if you and your class have been working to one certain genre of music for a few weeks, consider a change. Not only will it keep the classes exciting, but itll help your dancers grow their repertoire. LETTHE STUDENTS CHOOSE GETFEEDBACK Let your classroom become a democracy. Ask your students if there's anything that they'd like to work on. Or, have a monthly vote. So from month to month the students choose the music, the dance style, the warm-up techniques and so on. It helps the students feel part of your classes. As well as asking about what the students would like to do in the class, ask them how they think the classes could be improved.
