How Are Gummy Bears Made?

LANDGUMMES How Are Gummy Bears Made? The origin of gummy bears dates back to the early 1920s to a German entrepreneur named Hans Riegel. Riegel's first gummy candies were shaped like bears, drawn from his facination with the trained bears he had grown up watching at street festivals around Europe. The original base ingredient was gum Arabic, which is why he called them 'gummy' bears. Interested in finding out how gummy bears are made? You're in luck - check out the steps below! A mixture of gelatin, corn syrup, sugar, water, coloring, and flavorings is mixed together in large vats until it reaches a slurry consistency. Metal plates stamp an imprint of the gummy shape into the starch. The slurry is then injected into the starch mold. The slurry is left to cure in the corn starch molds for 24 hours. After the gummies are fully cured, they are separated from the corn starch mold and placed in a tumbler with light oil to give them a shiny coating and preserve freshness. LAND GUMMES LAND CUMMES The gummies are then packaged and ready to be sold for everyone to enjoy!
