Hot Weather Tips For Your Pet

Quik Shade Pets HOT WEATHER TIPS PET SAFETY Keeping your pet protected in the heat is important. Here are some tips to keep your pet safe, healthy and happy under the fun sun! keep off! 1. SPRING CHECK UP Spring is a great time to take your pet to the vet to get tested for heartworm or to get prevenetative flea and tick medication for the upcoming months. 2. DON'T SHAVE Never shave your dog completely as it leaves them exposed them to skin damage and vulnerable to sunburn. KMOW THE WARMING SIGUS Symptoms of overheating in pets include excessive panting or difficulty breathing, increased heart and respiratory rate, drooling, mild weakness, stupor, seizures, bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. If your dog has an elevated temperature they may collapse and need to see the vet immediately. 6. TREAT SUMBURN If your dog does get sunburned, a bath with cool water and a gentle, soap-free product will sooth their skin. There are special oils and lotions that are safe for pet that you can rub on sunburned areas fo relief. Never leave pets in a parked cars during extreme weather. Leaving pets unattended in cars in extreme weather is illegal in several states.
