WHAT IS AN APOSTILLE AND WHEN DO I NEED ONE? Apostille A fancy word for a certificate issued by the Delaware Secretary of State or other governments of the Hague Convention Countries that attests to the authentication of your formation documents. When do I need one? If you use a Delaware company internationally, you may be required to authenticate your Delaware formation documents when registering in foreign jurisdictions, opening a bank account outside of the US and for other official matters in countries that are members of the Hague Convention.
