Fishing in the Gulf is an industry worth Dh1 billion a year, with the UAE consuming between 70 and 100 tons of seafood annually at a rate of 33 kilograms per capita - the highest among Gulf states. If you will be fishing from the shore you will need a fishing license. The official season is from October to May but November to February is thought to be the best time to fish in Abu Dhabi.
