Erbs Palsy, also known as brachial plexus palsy, is an injury to the network of nerves (the brachial plexus) that supply feeling and control to the shoulders and arms. This injury to the neck and upper chest can result in a loss of movement and feeling in the arm, hand and fingers. It’s normal for complications to arise during the childbirth process. The question is how a healthcare provider like a doctor, nurse, or midwife responds to the birth complications. This infographic explains the proper response of a healthcare provider before, during, or after delivery of an infant with an Erb’s Palsy injury.
