Ecotech Institute's "Clean Jobs Index"

Jobs in businesses that produce goods or provide services that benefit the environment or conserve natural resources. WHAT IS A CLEANJOB Jobs in which workers' duties involve making their establishment's production processes more environmentally friendly or use fewer natural resources. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) defines these as green jobs. We call them clean jobs. There were a total of 3,014,785 that's almost one job posting for every person in lowa clean job openings posted in 2012. States With The Most Clean Job Postings in 2012 BUT WAIT! Per capita, the states with the most clean job postings are: Alaska North Dakota lowa Delaware California 374,276 Texas New York Illinois 241,253 175,688 123,581 Oregon Washington States to Watch These highest scorers on the Clean Jobs Index are the states most likely to embrace renewable energy and energy efficiency-which could bolster employment in the clean jobs sector.
