Economic Freedom Across Latin America

The Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal evaluated 177 countries on their economic freedom. While Chile ranked 7th internationally (3 ahead of the U.S.), Cuba ranked second to last. Looking at factors ranging from rule of law to open markets, the countries were scored out of a possible 100 points.
