Independence Day is the deadliest holiday to be driving a car, according to a new study by the National Highway Transportation Safety System. Most of the automobile related fatalities on July 4th involve drunk driving. Nowhere is this problem more severe than the great state of California, which boasts four of America's top ten cities for drunk driving. Los Angeles came in number two, second only to San Diego.
According to Elon Berk, a prominent DUI defense attorney in Los Angeles, "Most people who get DUIs are decent middle class people. They go out to dinner and have one too many glasses of wine. It can happen to anyone."
