Drinks Guide for Entertaining

Bloody Mary- 1 oz vodka, 3 oz tomato juice, 1 dash celery salt, 1 dash ground black pepper, 1 dash Tobasco, 2-4 dashes Worcestershire sauce, 1/8 tsp horseradish, dash of lemon or lime juice. Pour vodka into a highball glass filled with ice. Fill with tomato juice. Garnish with celery stalk.



Pink Lady- 1 �_ oz gin, 1 tsp grenadine syrup, 1 tsp light cream, 1 egg white. Shake ingredients with ice, strain into cocktail glass, and serve.



Whiskey Sour- 1 �_ oz whiskey, 4 oz sour mix (recipe follows), Crushed ice, 1 Maraschino cherry. Combine the whiskey and sour mix in a large old-fashioned glass with ice. Stir, garnish with cherry, and serve.



Frozen Daquiri- 1 �_ oz light rum, 1 tbsp triple sec, a 1�_ oz lime juice, 1 tsp sugar, 1 cherry, 1 cup crushed ice. Combine all ingredients (except for the cherry) in an electric blender and blend at a low speed for 5 seconds, then blend at a high speed until firm. Top with the cherry, and serve.



Planters Punch- 2 oz orange juice, 2 oz pineapple juice, 2 oz lime juice (sweetened), 1�_ oz white rum, 1�_ oz amber rum, 1�_ oz Jamaican rum, 1 tsp grenadine. Mix ingredients and shake. Pour into glass filled with ice. Add 1 tablespoon grenadine and top with 1�_ oz rum.



Cuba Libre- 2 oz rum (white), �_ oz lime juice, 5 oz cola. Put lime juice and twist of lime into highball glass. Add rum and fill with cola.



Vodka Gimlet- 2 oz Vodka, �_ oz. Lime Juice. Combine in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Serve with a lime squeeze.



Mint Julep- 4 cups water, 2 cups sugar, 4 cups fresh mint leaves, chopped, 4 cups bourbon, crushed ice, fresh mint leaves. Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to low, add chopped mint leaves and simmer 30 minutes. Let syrup stand at room temperature overnight. Strain. Fill julep cups with crushed ice. Combine bourbon and mint syrup; pour over ice. Garnish with mint.



Old Fashioned- 1 lump cube sugar, 1 or 2 dashes Cocktail Bitters, 1 dash seltzer, Muddle sugar until dissolved, 1 jigger Rye, Bourbon or Scotch, Cube of ice. Garnish with twist of lemon peel, 1 slice of orange, 1 maraschino cherry. Serve with highball spoon.
