The analysis of 50 restaurants includes, but is not limited to, traditional sit-down establish- ments such as Italian or Mexican restaurants, Coney Island restaurants, diners, pizzerias, cafés, and food trucks Averages for active Twitter accounts: Following: 708 Followers: 838 Tweets (All Time): 757 1 in 5 accounts have been abandoned (no tweets in over 6 months) Averages for abandoned Twitter accounts: Following: 200 Followers: 156 Tweets (All Time): 70 Only about half of all accounts have customized background graphics JPG Of all active accounts, the average tweet rate is 1 every 3 days On a scale of i to 5 with 5 being the highest possible score, active accounts averaged a score of 4 on Tweet quality For Detroit-area restaurants to be successful on Twitter, they must be persistent. Expecting immediate gains can cause frustration and lead to abandonment.
