Have you ever asked yourself how much the our Elections cost? Well, here are the numbers, and they are staggering. The 2012 U.S. elections are projected to have a total cost of $5.8 billion, a 7% increase from the $5.4 billion of 2008 being the costliest ever in American History, according to information released by the Center for Responsive Politics. The presidential race by itself will have costed about $2.5 billion, funded by the money raised by the candidates, the party committees of the Democrat and Republican parties, and the growing number of outside spending groups.
