Herzog Zwei is considered one of the best
two-player genesis games, combining the 1989
arcade-style play of Technosoft's own
Thunder Force series with a simple,
easy-to-grasp level of strategy.

DUNE II
BATTLE FOR ARRAKIS

The player takes the role of the commander
of one of the three interplanetary houses, the 1992
Atreides, the Harkonnen or the Ordos, with
the objective of wresting control of Arrakis
from the other two houses.

ORCS AND HUMANS
One player represents the Human
inhabitants of Azeroth, and the other controls 1994
the invading Orcs. Each side tries to destroy
the other by collecting resources and

Red alert was praised for its user interface,
which claimed to be more developed than 1996
the competing games of its time. Players
could queue commands, create unit groups
that could be selected by a number key, and
control numerous unites at a time.

Total Annihilation is set in the far future in the
midst of a galactic war, with battles taking 1997
place on the surface of planets and moons.
The efforts of the player are centered around
constructing a defensive base and an
offensive force, and conquering opponents.

In starcraft all units are unique to their
respective races and while rough 1998
comparisons can be drawn between certain
types of units in the technology tree, every
unit performs differently and requires different
tactics for a player to succeed.

Command & Conquer:Red Alert 2 contains
two distinct story lines depending on which 2000
faction the player wishes to play a.
However, the Allied story line is canon due to
the way in which the expansion pack

EMPIRE EARTH
The game requires players to use citizens to

produce military units to conquer opposing
civilizations. Empire Earth spans 500,000
years of world history, which is divided into

In Civilization IV players can then select one
from 18 specific civilizations, or allow the 2005
game to select one for their randomly; these
civilizations are loosely based on actual
national in mankind's history.

of the Command & Conquer series. Warring 2008
factions harvest resources using vulnerable
collectors and then use those resources to
