A report by the Environmental Defence Fund completed for Starbucks in 2000 revealed that American's throw away on average 250 coffee cups per year into landfill. Luckily the popularity of the 'reusable' cup is growing! Hopefully if coffee houses work with their customers to get them using reusable cups, then 'caffeinated landfill' will become a phenomenon of the past.
