Global Learning Solutions In 2014, through a series of webinars, workshops and a survey, Interactive Services conducted a research campaign to gather qualitative data on what the future of blended learning looks like. This infographic highlights some of the main findings of that research. 2014 in Review Corporate Learning 2013-14: Key Statistics What Was In 2013, the elearning industry was worth $56.2 Billion - this is Over 41.7% of global Fortune 500s are using some form of educational technology to support internal learning and development initiatives - ELeaming Magazine, US spending on corporate training grew by 15% last year to over $70 Billion in the US and over $130 billion worldwide -Bersin, 2014 Trending? set to double in 2015 - Docebo, 2014 Throughout 2014, the learning industry buzzed with hot topics - mobile, social, gamification, MOOC, collaborative, learner-centric- the list goes on. 2013 BYOD and enterprise mobility market was 50% of training hours are being deployed through eLearning, blended learning, More than 70% of organizations cite capabilities-gaps as a top challenge - Bersin, 2014 However, we know that implementing these things in our learning programs is not always straight forward. Organizations that measure the impact of their training dollars are few and far between. Is this due to lack of resources, or the unwillingness of a business to acknowledge the inefficacy of its current training model? Who cares if training fails? And what is the opportunity for L&D if we can prove that it works? What did our research tell us? Only 28% of organizations measure training against business KPIS. Learner-driven evaluation is the most utilized form of training evaluation. Only 20% of organizations invite external evaluation of training. Control groups are utilized by only 20% of organizations. Mobile Many organizations we spoke to deployed some kind of mobile learning project in 2014.The majority of these projects were tablet based, with only a few use cases involving mobile phones. How successful has tablet earning been versus phone learning? What our data told us. • 75% of people confirmed that tablet based learning had been more successful than phone based learning. Tablet based earning 45% confirmed that Infrastructure and technology is the biggest hurdle to deploying tablet-based learning. Phone based earning 30% believe that evidence of Poor use of budget/time Good use for budget/time business impact was the main hurdle to deploying phone-based learning. The rise of YouTube, Instagram and Vine has legitimized the development and inclusion of user generated video and 'low cost' video. Additionally the increase in mobile and tablet-based learning appears to be linked to an increase in the use of video. What our data told us. Is video a good use of Budget? 90% of Clients consider video to be good value for money. Gamification Gamification has been a popular choice for corporate training in 2014 as many organizations look for ways to engage learners, increase knowledge retention and improve the rate of talent development. In our research, we discovered that gamification can broadly be separated into 2 main areas: Main Barrier to Entry Traditional learning programs where gamification elements were used A combination of organizational skepticism and expensive development hindered the adoption of gamification. to make the experience more engaging Programs designed to simulate and practice a task, sometimes What you said: SELECT START "It costs too much and takes too long.
