The Amazon, which represents over half of our planet’s remaining rainforests, is the most bio-diverse region in the world. The number of species of fish in the Amazon alone exceeds the number found in the entire Atlantic Ocean. The myriad of plants, animals, and insects that depend on this ecosystem for their existence is astonishing, but also rapidly declining due to the destruction of their natural habitat.
