Bail is the money that is paid to the court so that an arrested person may be freed and a guarantee that the person will appear in court when ordered to do so. Usually, if the defendant appears in court when scheduled, the court will refund the bail. But if they don’t show, the court keeps the bail. Under law, if any subject is held for criminal charges, they can avoid arrest or jail if they put guarantee money in form of cash or property.
